Why
Pink Pigeon?

It all started with a flock of pink pigeons...

Pink Pigeon takes its inspiration from one of Britain's most delightfully eccentric composers, Lord Berners, who lived just a few miles from our studio. His delight in the unexpected became the inspiration for our label.

He didn't just write music.
He dyed his pigeons pink.
Then he let them fly.
And that was only the beginning...

The Pink Pigeons

Every Easter, Lord Berners coloured his pigeons bright pink before releasing them over the estate.

Frivolously Unnecessary Notices (FUN)

Lord Berners shared his eccentricity beyond Faringdon House, inspiring wonderfully unnecessary notices around the town—including:

"Please do not throw stones at this notice"

Perfectly logical
Perfectly ridiculous.

The Composer

Behind all the eccentricity was an accomplished composer whose music was performed across Europe.

The Dinner Parties

Artists, writers and musicians gathered at Faringdon House, never quite knowing what strange idea Lord Berners might have next.

The Spirit

We don't dye pigeons.
But we do believe music should surprise people.

Original ideas deserve original soundtracks.

That's the spirit behind Pink Pigeon.

Why Pink Pigeon?

Because memorable stories deserve memorable music.

Because advertising deserves ideas that stand out.

Because editors deserve tracks with personality.

Because creativity should occasionally have a flash of silliness.

Because somewhere nearby, an eccentric composer once released a flock of pink pigeons into the Oxfordshire sky...

...and we like to think he'd approve.

So...

Because we believe originality isn't a gimmick
- it's our philosophy -

Mistrust a man who never has an
occasional flash of silliness.
